ABOUT PAKU
Penang base PAKU, formed in 2005 was the project of guitarist/songwriter Riz who just recently returned from the US after many decades overseas. The current line up consist of vocalist/lyricist WAN, lead guitarist /songwriter RIZ, sister LEENA on 2nd guitar, JEWIN on Bass and ALEX on drums.
The influences of this quintet spans over many generations of great music, ranging from Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N Roses, Cheap Trick, Queen, Dewa 19, Peter Pan.....too many to list.
The band writes and performs its own original material and have toured many clubs and festivals in Penang. Current material consists of songs that were recorded with RIZ's last band inthe US by the name of "KICKSTAND".
PAKU plans to release a CD in the early part of 2007......all brand new original material written in English and Malay.
PAKU are now signed under Indie label Deathstar Records.
